Education Assistant –
Special Needs I
Assists special education
teaching staff in a school setting by performing instructional tasks in small
groups and one-on-one settings for a student with special needs.
Duties: Work
as a Special Needs Educational Assistant in a wide variety of specialized roles. This position will assist with physical
management of a student including lifting, moving, positioning, tube-feeding,
toileting or diapering under the direction of the teacher. Within regular and special educational
settings, implements students’ program under special education supervision. Assistant will need to help with loading and
unloading from the bus, administer medications within the scope of the District
policy (ies) and state and federal law.
Other duties assigned by the teacher/administrator.
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent required. Documented
successful prior experience with supervising
children. Hold valid
Standard Red Cross First Aid certificate or
be willing to become
Red
Cross certified. Employee must maintain
a cooperative working relationship with
fellow employees, maintain a positive
attitude
and have a positive relationship with students.

Wages & Benefits: As per negotiated Classified salary schedule
Work Schedule: Monday
– Thursday
